The 2020 Nissan Frontier, which was first unveiled in 1997, has since then become one of Nissan's most popular pickup trucks. Scheduled to hit dealerships in spring, the 2020 Frontier is expected to lead the class in horsepower and deliver a fuel-efficient performance. Powering the Frontier for 2020 is an all-new powertrain — a 3.8-liter direct injection V6 paired to a responsive nine-speed automatic transmission. The new power plant will connect to the wheels through an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission. Both of these upgrades are "expected" to be used in the next-generation Frontier that's due next year, Nissan says. Three body configurations will be available: an extended cab for the S and SV trims; a crew cab with a 59.5-inch bed for S, SV, and Pro-4X trims; and a crew cab with a 73.3-inch bed in SV trim. The Frontier Pro-4X comes standard with four-wheel drive as well as a locking rear differential. There are a few changes to the 2020 Frontier’s standard features, as they now include a leather-wrapped shift knob, a tilt steering column, power door locks, and power windows.
